POST-GRADUATION PROGRAM IN DESIGN | PPGD

PPGD aims to train highly qualified researchers, teachers, and professionals, considering the theoretical-practical convergence in the field of design, where they work in abstract concepts for the development of projects.

The academic nature of the master’s degree proposes training through scientific methodology focused on knowledge in the field of Visual Design. It enables the search for technological innovation with a critical understanding of the social and cultural aspects in which we live, to ensure an ethical, sustainable, and human-centered performance. Therefore, the course also aims to promote critical, theoretical, and methodological reflection on the field of design theory and practice, encouraging the diffusion of the scientific, artistic, technological, as well as motivate actions of cooperation and academic exchange in teaching and research.

The research in the Program is organized from the Visual Design concentration area, containing two lines.

1. Design and Culture: contemporary visuality is the focus of investigations in the field of design. It specifically addresses issues related to languages, concepts, and praxis with the cultural approach as the axis of the investigative process.
2. Image, technology, and project: it deals with conceptual, methodological, and project aspects of the plan of image objects based on different processes and technological platforms. It investigates the use and presence of images in the various coordinates of space and time.
